OSUN HEALTH WORKERS THREATEN STRIKE OVER PLANNED MASS SACK

The Joint Health Sector Unions JOHESU at the Ladoke Akintola unversity Teaching Hospital Osogbo, has given the Board of Management of the hospital 7 days to accede to their demand or face industrial unrest.

The union wants the state government to suspend the proposed mass sack of workers in the hospital.

Chairman of the union, Comrade Wale Afolabi ‎while addressing journalists  in Osogbo, the Osun state capital claimed that the appointment of the workers was legal because it conformed with the provision of the public service rules.

He wondered why the state government would after about 4 years of the  recruitment exercise , decided to retrench ‎the workers.

Afolabi  disclosed that over three hundred  staff of the hospital have so far been  down degraded, saying any attempt by the state government to sack workers in the hospital would be resisted.

‎The union called on well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola  to reverse the proposed mass sack resolution..
